Indoor Mural Dallas Zoo

These pics are details of a 13 foot tall mural that wraps continuously around the inside of a cylindrical rotunda of the newly built Prime Meridian Restaurant (2002). The bottom is 13 feet above the floor. The skylight in the ceiling dome is a long slit that runs parallel to the equator. All the flora and fauna are positioned accordingly, with migrating birds providing a wild card for aesthetic continuity. The seasons and times of day are also represented seamlessly. 2800 square feet. This got me the prestigious Artist of the Year Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
