Bahama Beach Club

This job was a set of outdoor murals for the Bahama Beach Club Aquatics Center, which was part of the Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center. It was a Public Art project for the City of Dallas in 2005. It covered all sides of two buildings, including the outdoor showers, about 4200 square feet, total. It received a clear graffiti-proof aliphatic urethane coating as a finish. Notice the fine detail in all the figures. Instead of smoothing the whole wall, I made contour-cut painted figures out of thin sign aluminum, as well Dibond for the larger pieces. This worked great, especially where I had to work over wooden slats.
